Description
First Baptist Church was master planned for future growth. The facility
sits toward the rear of the site to accommodate a future, large
sanctuary addition with music and classroom additions. The circle
drive, perimeter parking, and storm water system were designed to
accommodate future expansions. The church had the assistance of
many experienced and willing volunteers within their congregation
as well as volunteer assistance from the National Baptist Volunteer
Groups.
The
15,612 square foot slab-on-grade, pre-engineered steel superstructure
was designed, bid, and value engineered to bring construction cost
within tight budget constraints. Building utilized structural insulated
roof panels and metal stud side walls and wood-frame construction
of side wings. This blend of systems brought the cost down and allowed
more use of volunteers familiar with residential construction.
